You’re Going to Disney World Again?!?!

I get this reaction quite often so I thought I would take the opportunity to tell what keeps my family coming back to Disney World. After eight visits under our belt, it is still my family’s favorite vacation destination. I get excited when I get to tell others what keeps us going back for more.

I feel magic during our vacation that you can only experience at Disney World. It has a way of making you forget about the real world and feel like a kid again. I am always amazed at the level of detail in everything Disney does. From the architecture and landscape to the hidden mickey’s, Disney definitely has a high standard of excellence in all they do.

We have our favorite rides that we look forward to riding over and over, but we also discover something new each time we visit. Disney is always improving by updating and creating new attractions and shows. Disney World’s most recent major update was the new Fantasyland expansion that I can’t wait to see on my upcoming trip. There are attractions that appeal to all ages.

There are so many places to stay and dine while visiting Disney World. We make each trip unique by staying at a different resort each time we go and have not been disappointed yet. I can sum the food up in one word, “YUMMY”. I am always blown away by Disney’s dining options. Disney has many restaurants to choose from that makes our dining experience a very fun part of our trip. After all the hustle and bustle in the parks, I am happy to sit down and enjoy a nice meal.

With some careful planning, Disney World really can be an affordable vacation. We always take advantage of one of Disney’s discount promotions.

Last but definitely not least are the priceless memories that we make. It is memories of seeing my children’s faces light up. It is seeing their smiles and hearing their laughter. I will cherish those memories forever and look forward to making many more.

Disney is just a part of my family! This is a few of the reasons that we keep going back for more. Let me help your family create new memories by planning a magical vacation you will never forget.

Children Only Pirate Cruises at Disney World

Looking for that extra pixie dust or a little quiet time on your Disney World vacation, then this might be the perfect adventure for your child. This is a must do for any child that has every dreamed of being a pirate. Disney offers two-hour cruises for children between the ages of 4 to 12 to sail the high seas.

Upon arrival, each child will be suited up in a life vest and receive his/her very own pirate bandana. Scallywags will board a pirate pontoon boat and be lead by at least two Disney cast members on a treasure hunt at various Disney resort ports. Young buccaneers will enjoy hearing pirate legends and discovering pirate treasures based on various clues along the way. Each child will receive a bag of treasures to keep.

Disney has four different pirate cruises to choose from. Reservations are highly recommended for this cruise due to a limited amount of space. All pirate adventures take place from 9:30am to 11:30am weather permitting and include a snack. The cost ranges from $28-$36 per child. Because this adventure is for children only, it is more suitable for those that are comfortable being away from parents for at least 2 hours. Children must also be potty trained.

‘Ohana’s Best Friends Character Breakfast

‘Ohana, which means family, is one of my personal favorite restaurants. You really are treated like family there. You are even referred to as cousin. ‘Ohana is located at the Polynesian Resort which has a beautiful tropical oasis setting.

This character meal is a must do for all Lilo and Stitch fans. These lovable characters are also joined by Mickey and Pluto. Each character will spend some one-on-one time at each table. Make sure to bring along your autograph book and camera. This is a great opportunity to snap a keepsake photo. The kids will also enjoy parading around the restaurant in a conga line and playing games.

Your waiter/waitress will initially bring you a basket of bread followed by a plate of fruit. You will forever be in love with the pineapple bread and cinnamon rolls. The main breakfast platter includes biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. No Disney breakfast would be complete without Mickey waffles. The POG juice was really good also – orange, pineapple, and guava. Remember it is all you can eat so don’t hesitate to request seconds.

This is a character meal that is sure to not disappoint. It is a great way to start your day before heading to the parks.

Disney Cruise Pirate Night

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! You will have tons of fun showing off your inner pirate during the Disney Cruise Line Pirate Night.

Disney Cruise Line Pirate night Michelle T

Some guests go all out with pirate attire dressing up for the celebration. Be sure to bring along pirate costumes or accessories if you would like to dress up for the occasion. You will find pirate themed bandanas for everyone in your party placed in your stateroom. The celebration begins when you are greeted buccaneer style at dinner by servers dressed in pirate garb. My kids thought it was really cool that the menu looked like a treasure map. When you finish your pirate themed dinner, you will head to the main deck for the pirate deck party. You will notice the area has been transformed for a night of dancing and entertainment. Your favorite Disney characters will dance the night away decked out in their own pirate attire. You may even see a pirate stop by trying to take over the ship, but don’t worry a special guest will save the day.

For my family, this is one of the main highlights of the cruise. Let me help you experience the pirate life. Contact me today for a no obligation quote.

Don’t Miss Toy Story Midway Mania!

At Hollywood Studios

Toy Story Midway Mania! at Hollywood Studios is no doubt one of my family’s favorite rides. It’s a ride that’s a game; it’s a game that’s a ride! It is a competitive 4D interactive game/ride like no other. The fun begins the moment you get in line. You will experience a world of super-sized classic toys and board games as you wait in the queue. Mr. Potato Head himself will also entertain your family as he interacts with guests. You will then grab your 3D glasses and off you go to board the carnival themed ride. Each car holds 4 guests. Grab your toy canon and get ready to rack up points as you are whirled into a world of Disney-Pixar characters and targets. You will be cheered on by Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, Ham, and the Green Army Men as you launch darts at balloons, toss rings at aliens, plunge eggs at targets, and throw baseballs at plates. This attraction is fun for the entire family as it appeals to beginners and more competitive gamers. I must admit that my family and I rode this ride 3 times on our last visit to Hollywood Studios, and my hubby and I even engaged in a little friendly competition.

The wait for this ride can get fairly long as the day goes on. Get your Disney’s Fastpass  early because they are usually gone by lunchtime. I recommend going straight to this ride as soon as you enter the park. I hope you have a blast!

Where Can I Find Lightning McQueen at Disney World?

I often have parents ask me where their kids can see Lightning McQueen at Disney World.  The following are the best places to visit to make any Cars fan happy.

 Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

You will find Disney’s own rendition of Radiator Springs at the Art of Animation Resort.  There is an entire wing focusing on the setting of the Cars film.  Your little one will be thrilled walking down Route 66 and looking at the cast of Cars positioned throughout this wing of the resort.   It is a great place to get some pictures with Lightning McQueen and his friends.  The suites are also decked out in the Cars theme.  You would surely be a hit with your Cars fanatic for staying at this resort.

Cars Character Meet & Greet at Hollywood Studios

You will find Lightning McQueen at the Team McQueen Headquarters located near the Muppet Vision 3D theater at Hollywood Studios.  This is a great place to capture some magical memories of your Cars fan on camera.  Check your guide at Hollywood Studios for meet and greet times.

Lights, Motors, Action!

If the thoughts of high intense chases, explosions, and burning rubber get you excited then you don’t want to miss the Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show located on the Streets of America at Hollywood Studios.  I have two sons that love the fast paced action of this show.

The show is outdoors and the action takes place on a live set.  You will hear motors roaring and tires squealing as stunt drivers race around the set in cars, motorcycles, and jet skis.  You will also feel the heat from the explosions that take place during this thrilling action.  If you have a child that dislikes loud noises, you can sit farther from the action and not miss a thing.  A director will explain how the stunts are safely carried out.  All stunts are filmed so the director can show how these scenes are put together to make the chases look realistic for the movies.

This is a great place to see Lightning McQueen in action as he makes a special guest appearance.  Check your guide at Hollywood Studios for showtimes.

Discover the Magic of Disney World’s Electrical Water Pageant

My family was so excited a few years ago when we first stumbled upon the electrical water pageant.  The pageant is a spectacular light display on barges that takes place in the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.   You will see lit up screen images of King Triton, a turtle, a dinosaur, a whale, seahorses, an octopus, dolphins, a sea monster, and more.  Disney adds that extra bit of magic by playing an exciting assortment of music along with the parade.  The pageant ends with a salute to America to patriotic music.

You can view this parade from the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Fort Wilderness or try to watch near the resort boat docks outside Magic Kingdom.

Below is the typical schedule.  Check with Guest to verify pageant times during your stay.

Polynesian — 9:00 p.m.

Grand Floridian — 9:15 p.m.

Wilderness Lodge — 9:35 p.m.

Ft. Wilderness — 9:45 p.m.

Contemporary — 10:05 p.m.

Magic Kingdom Opening Show

Looking for a fantastic way to start your morning at the most magical place on earth.  If you are an early riser, be sure to catch the opening ceremony at the Main Street U.S.A. train station near the entrance of Magic Kingdom.  If you are not an early bird, you may want to become one for a day.  The show takes place about 10 minutes before the park opens.  I would suggest getting there at least 30 minutes before the park opens to get a good viewing area.

The ceremony begins with a warm introduction followed by singing and dancing.  These catchy tunes will be in your head all morning.  The excitement builds even more when you hear the whistle of the train as it approaches the station.  Your family will be thrilled when they realize some of their favorite characters are on board, including Mickey Mouse.  Then it is time for the big opening of Magic Kingdom with a group countdown from 10 to 0 followed by pixie dust thrown into the air.

This extra magic gets our day at Magic Kingdom off to a great start.  Just another one of the many reasons I love Disney.  It really is a “must do”.

Christmas Spirit at Fort Wilderness

I love to visit Disney World during the Christmas season.  All of the parks fill you with Christmas cheer as they are decked out for the holidays.  The Christmas spirit does not stop there.  My family enjoys going over to Fort Wilderness and taking a stroll through the campgrounds to see the wonderful display of Christmas decorations there.  What makes this so awesome is that the decorations are set up by RV guests who also want to be a part of the magic.  Many of these guests come to Fort Wilderness every year to make their display more extravagant than the year before.  You will find an impressive variety of high quality displays.  We have seen a miniature model of Cinderella’s castle with twinkling lights synchronized to music, beautiful displays of the Disney parks, inflatable characters, lights galore, and much more.

If you have the opportunity to check this out, it is a lot of fun.  You can visit Fort Wilderness by bus or take the boat from Magic Kingdom.  Better yet, you could stay at the campground.  They have many campsites and cabins to choose from.  They also offer a holiday horse drawn “sleigh” ride that can take you on a tour of the Christmas displays at an additional cost.
