What’s On Your Disney Bucket List?

I was 30 years old when I went to Walt Disney World for the first time. When I planned the trip I planned it with the notion that it would be our one and only trip, one and done! (Boy was I mistaken!) The rationale behind these obviously crazy thoughts was that we couldn’t possibly want to go back again after seven days of Disney fun! What else could there be to possibly do? Needless to say I fell in love with Disney World that week and have been back four more times in the past three years and we have decided as a family that Disney will be a staple in our vacation diets!

Since my love for Disney has grown leaps and bounds I decided that I would make a bucket list of all the Disney experiences I want to have during future trips. I might or might not admit, ahem, that my list has over 50 items, but since I do not want to overload you with Disney awesomeness I have only included my top 5 for this post.

1. Adventures by Disney! I mean what could be better than a guided tour with two Adventure Guides where you are immersed in the culture of magical places? A trip where everything has been planned for you? All you have to do is have a good time? Yes please! I am thinking that the tour to Greece is looking mighty fine to me right now!

2. Disney Cruise! Oh goodness… A Disney themed cruise ship packed with awesome food and activities for everyone in your family? Not to mention you are traveling to beautiful locations? Count me in!

3. A few days of Disney World where it is just me, my camera, and I! It makes my nerdy photographer heart beat a little faster just thinking about it! The Disney World grounds are breathtaking. There is so much to capture. (I guess I could take my handsome hubby and make it a romantic trip sans kids! Yay!)

4. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! The decorations at Disney World during the holiday seasons are alone worth mentioning on anyone’s bucket list!

5. Did you know that Disney offers races for runners? I didn’t until a few months ago! Someday I will run in one of the Princess races with my tutu a flying! (I guess I should start training!)

As you can see there is more to Disney than rides and characters! (Even though it is worth the trip for that too!) What is on your Disney bucket list? Let me help you figure it out! Christmas in July

Cinderella’s Castle at Christmas

Yes, it is July and I am already excited about Christmas.  It is time for those of you visiting Disney World this holiday season to start thinking about whether or not to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  Disney World goes all out for the holiday season, and the Christmas party is no exception.  It truly is a Magical experience.

For those of you not familiar with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, let me fill you in on the excitement.   It is a special night of holiday entertainment with Christmas shows, parades, fireworks, and more.  The Party requires purchase of a separate admission ticket.  Although the official holiday celebration is 7pm to midnight, guests are often permitted to enter the park as early as 4pm.

Toy Soldier’s marching in the Christmas Parade

The spirit of the season can be captured throughout the park with all of the Christmas lights, decorations, towering Christmas trees, and Christmas music.  You will be in awe of Cinderella’s castle as it is magically transformed to an ice palace with thousands of beautiful twinkling lights. There are also wonderful holiday shows where some of your favorite Disney friends come to life.  Don’t miss “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas” in Tomorrowland featuring Buzz Lightyear and the mischievous Stitch.  “Celebrate the Season” is performed at the castle stage starring Mickey and his pals.  Grab your complimentary hot cocoa, cookies, and apple slices and watch reindeer, toy soldiers, gingerbread men, Santa, and your favorite Disney characters as they make an appearance in the “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade.“  I can’t stress enough just how magical this parade is.  The party also has a spectacular display of fireworks, Holiday Wishes, narrated by Jiminy Cricket and accompanied by Christmas music.  The party would not be complete without snow in the forecast.  If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, do not miss the magical snowfall on Main Street.

Santa wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

If you are looking for an unforgettable way to spend time with your family and friends this Christmas season, I highly recommend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  I cannot think of a better way to celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”!
