Breakfast in Wonderland with a touch of Class

On a recent trip to Walt Disney World we visited 1900 Park Fare for the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast. Our middle child was celebrating his birthday at Disney and wanted to have the Mad Hatter join us. I am a huge proponent of character dining because you can skip the lines at the park and enjoy the attractions because you already have your character pictures taken. Our excitement started as soon as we arrived, we were greeted by cast members that asked questions about why we had chosen this breakfast. We waited in a short line to get our picture taken, and then were brought in front of the French doors to wait for the restaurant to open. We were asked to say “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” several times when all of a sudden the doors opened and Mary Poppins greeted us at the door. Excitement rang out through the hall way, it was one of those magical moments.

Breakfast in Wonderland

We were brought to our table where we were instructed to get in line for breakfast. I chose a buffet so that everyone would have lots to choose from.

The menu was actually a little overwhelming. I loved the hot menu, bacon, sausage, omelets made to order, scrambled eggs, pancakes, Mickey waffles, ham and this is just to name a few things. The cold menu was wonderful as well, several flavors of yogurt, fresh strawberry soup (a personal favorite), ice cream with every sort of fresh fruit you could imagine. It really did feel like wonderland with all of the savory choices.

Our character experience was amazing as my little Mad Hatter met the “real” Mad Hatter and had a dance with Alice! Mary Poppins was very warm and right on cue when we asked about Bert who was at the races! Winnie the Pooh and Tigger also stopped by and tried to steal the honey from the table!

This character meal is available on most dining plans or you can pay out of pocket. Prices range from $12.00 to $26.00. Adults and children are priced differently. Gratuity is not included.

If you’re traveling to Walt Disney World and want a fantastic meal as well as character experience, make sure to contact me so I can book you a magical memory that will last a lifetime!

Dinner Fit for a Queen

“Can someone please just roll me back to the resort?”  These were the words my husband and I could hardly utter after our exquisite 10 course dinner at Queen Victoria’s Room, at the Grand Floridian.  I have never in my had such amazing service and food as I did that night.  When I think of Disney, some of the things that come to mind are magic, romance and elegance, and that is exactly what Queen Victoria’s Room is all about.  So start saving up, this is a dream dinner!

Jeff, my husband, and I decided to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day and an early Anniversary dinner there.  We were lucky enough to get into the four table only, two seatings a night room.  And what an amazing little room it was! I was delighted to find a vase of gorgeous red roses at the table, and I even had a mini ottoman for my purse!    Yes, it was the cutest! They also have a very strict dress code, so it was really cool to get new outfits (a satin dress for me, and a new suit for my husband) in the months before.  Once in a life time experience, I got to look my best right??

I don’t want to give TO much away… I had read so many reviews regarding it that I kind of knew what to expect on each plate, so I will leave out to many details.  I will tell you about a few favorite dishes.  Surprisingly my favorite course was course number 4,  sake soy marinated kurobuta pork with bok choy and soy beans, along with some fresh grated wasabi.  I don’t normally eat pork, but I couldn’t believe the amazing flavors and how it melted right in my mouth.  I also enjoyed the itty bitty mini spoon that was with the serving tray for the wasabi.

I was also a huge fan of the cheese course which was accompanied by assorted nuts, fresh honeycomb, and candied fruits. To die for. They would tell you about each cheese, and its partner.  It was divine!

There was also three dessert courses, course one being my favorite, green apple baba with sour cream ice cream.. that’s a spun sugar next, and that’s not an apple, its actually apple cake and merengue around the sides! Delicious!!!

We spend hours here, and also got the wine tasting to go along with it.  A little too much wine for me.  Be sure to ask for coffee and tea if there are two people.  It’s more of a science experiment than your average cup of joe.  Trust me! You do not want to miss that.  There are also a few things you get to take home with you, one being your personalized menu.  And if you do not like an item, be sure to have your travel agent mention that when they are booking your reservation.  For me, I am not a seafood eater, and the chef made sure to accommodate that for me.  Also, if you cannot finish your last course, the third dessert course, ask them to pack it up for you. They will and without a problem.

This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience, and one not to be missed.  I would love help book this very special dinner for you!  Be sure to contact me today, or call me             800-670-4312       x132 for a FREE quote!
